My name is Freddy and I’ve wasted nearly a month of my life on this place I found it after being recommended by a few friends who have been hanging out here for quite some time.

I may have a solution for your table top. I dont know if Vegas has a masking feature but if it does. You could create an eliptical mask and mask over the table, it is staionary so should be easy enough. This way the table would be solid and not transparent. Hope this helps. Or the other thing would be to paint it with a matt black so you dont get the reflection.

Lighing wise, maybe a stripe light on eather side mounted on the walls would get rid of the green gradient?

I used to get many repeated requests from friends and family to setup, troubleshoot and how to use their computers. Now, I can ask them to check out these video podcasts and save myself from having to repeat myself. Not to mention that a good video demonstration such as yours, is so much clearer than trying to guide them verbally thru the phone.

btw, there are some missing pointers on this video which I would like to point out, hope you don’t mind (you did mentioned that you hope to get more feedbacks to make your video even better rite?)

DHCP
As more and more network devices come with DHCP services, it is good to remind viewers that if they already have DHCP enabled somewhere within their network, they should not enable the DHCP on the router. This is because there should only be 1 DHCP server enable on any network at any one time to issue IP addresses or there will be conflict of IP addresses that may result in having network devices not able to talk to one another. This is especially so for home networking whereby they already have a wired router doing DHCP, and they want to add a wireless router to the network etc.

Port Range Forward and DDNS
Since most home users are on dynamics WAN IP (IP address of user network on the Internet assign by most internet providers) which is always changing every time the router is connected to the internet, Port Range Forward itself will not work (unless you know what is your current WAN IP address or you subscribe to more expensive static WAN IP) until they setup their DDNS (Dynamics DNS) properly to get a fixed URL that will always point to the current WAN IP on your router. http://www.dyndns.org is one of the most popular provider of DDNS services for free.

And being in a closed end system is never a good idea. I know, I know, I was all for the Drobo in this episode. But my opinion of the thing has gone sour.

A lot of people still love it, but I will no longer use one.

I would delete this episode, but I think its still good to let people know about backing up.

And smart is not a good thing. Because the smarter the NAS, the more difficult it is to find replacement that is compatible. Even getting the same model as replacement may fail due to diff version of firmware.

To play safe, I always use mirroring rather than RAID 5 that has it’s data stripped across multiple harddisks. At least even when the enclosure is no longer in sale, I can still connect to any computer to retrieve the data.

finally got on to c what ur doin on here and its great stuff. i love this piece bout raw data, i was really lookin to find a way to shoot and print large photos (almost wall sized murals) without the pixelation problems and mayb shootin in the raw will help me. also how do u stream so well, its so crisp no chops at all great stuff man awesome

Yeah, technology moves too quick… that article came out two days after this episode was pushed.

Although, I literally just updated my system and I am still able to access the homebrew channel and still play DVD’s… that’s not to say other apps won’t get fouled.

But, if you have it installed and run the updates, it doesn’t appear to break MPlayer DVD playback.

I’m sure the sites mentioned in the episode will be updated.

Suggestion: How about an SD (or even iPod/iPhone) version? HD is nice, but usually overkill.

I too dabbled with fixing our dishwasher a few months back and saved about 300.00… today I fixed/replaced the window in my suv — the rear passenger window motor burned out.. I cracked open the door earlier this week, got the part number, found it and fixed it!

Looks like youre using a canon HD video camera — is it the HV30 by chance?

Idea: you should open this up to viewers … ask for their ideas, allow viewers to vote, then do those show ideas… you could even open it up to viewers to submit their own 10min video on a problem / repair they had.

I can only record for 5 minutes? It can only export to SWF and nothing else? I can’t convert the SWFs? I can only upload them to screencast.com, which I have to pay to use after a free trial, and no other website of my choosing? I even spoke with the founder of the project via Email on these issues, and he outright stated that he REFUSES to fix them.

This would’ve been the perfect screencasting software, but it turns out to be a shady scam. Jing isn’t worth your time.

I think you make a good point… but I also think that the tech savvy crowd can pass this video along to aid those who may not know.

Future shows may get very tech heavy, so keep watching.

The Apple TV interfaces with iTunes, so you can use it with both a PC and a Mac

Now I’ve used Scott’s ideas on lots of projects… My pics are small and easily mailed, my hard drives are clean, I’m saving up for my drobo, and I live by birds eye view. VirtualDub does a good job of de-interlacing. But it adds another step to getting my videos onto the AppleTV.

Anyone out there have recommendations for a good video converter for Windows? I’ve used the Videora AppleTV converter which has simple presets for quick conversion, but doesn’t seem to do a very good job with interlaced video.

You are going to have to step up to a more robust product for what you are looking at doing. I use jing as a quick supplement to a more fully featured app.

I have messed with the trial, pretty bad-ass! But, not enough for me to shell out more money when snapz works well for my needs.

It outputs a swf file. That file can’t be edited in Final Cut Pro. VisualHub can do a lot of video conversions but it can’t deal with swf. Videobox can capture video from YouTube but it doesn’t find any video if I watch the swf file in a browser.

Ok, I am not sure what this jingy thing was all about, and i was pretty lost, but let me tell you something… that birds eye view thing, now that is awesome! I’ve been looking at everything, I even checked out where they make Bisquick! (boy, you see a trend here)

And by the way, this is what I would do, I would sell time with the ticket where not only do you get a 1 and 200 chance of winning an awesome camera that i would not even know how to work (oh thats better) here it is. With the raffle ticket the winner gets… A live filmed show of thatsawesome.tv! It will be like Ed Mcmahon delivering the prize in the prize wagon, I hear Scott’s brother has a mini van?!?

So you buy a ticket and if you win, Scott delivers the camera to you live for a show of thatsawesome.tv where you are the star. He shows you how it works and then if you can do something awesome its part of the show.

That sucks for me because I want a camera and I want to be on TV, but it would be looked at as rigged so I cant win, but my waffle show will be on one day.
